Movie Trailer Monday: Fantastic Beasts, Doctor Strange, Wonder Woman

So, I realized I forgot some trailers last week. Guess that’s what I get for trying to do a post on an Ipad while watching The Force Awakens with my teens.

A new Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them trailer was released at ComicCon. It looks awesome!

Next up is Doctor Strange starring Benedict Cumberbatch.

I wasn’t initially excited for Wonder Woman, I’m not a big DC universe fan. That’s not to say I don’t like Wonder Woman, but I think at this point I’d rather see a Black Widow movie, especially after I read Volume 1 of the recent run of the comic, The Finely Woven Thread (my system is missing Vol.2:  A Tightly Tangled Web, but has Vol. 3: Last Days). I am happy to see a female superhero movie though. After seeing the trailer though, I’m a little more excited. I like that it’s a period piece, and who can argue with Chris Pine as the love interest?

There is also a Justice League trailer. I did not see Dawn of Justice, I had no interest in it, still don’t. And I’m not sure how I feel about the Batfleck. I do think Jason Mamoa (Game of Thrones, Stargate: Atlantis) is a great for Aquaman, but I’m wondering if they are doing a shared universe with their shows, are the movies a second shared universe, or not? If not, why recast Barry Allen/The Flash?

    1. I don’t watch the show, but if this is a shared universe, why the change the actor? Marvel didn’t change the actress playing Sif when she appeared on SHIELD, or change Agent Carter for TV vs. Movie, or any other characters that have appeared in both. It just makes it more confusing in my opinion.
