Movie Trailer Monday: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

The first trailer for the first Star Wars Anthology movie, Rogue One dropped last week. It looks pretty awesome to me. I already like the heroine with her line about it being a Rebellion so she rebels. Now, I wasn’t too fond of TFA, but I think this one looks better.

    • I didn’t do a post. I only review movies based on books. I thought parts of the plot, like the whole sequence on Han’s new ship and jumping to hyerspace in the hanger, was very B movie, the names and costumes were very ST and not SW. I liked Poe and Rey, I thought Phasma was under used for all the hype about Gwendoline Christie playing the part – and way to easy to take out – and I did not like Finn’s personality, I liked his storyline, but I felt he was too boisterous and made one too many bad and poorly timed jokes, and spent way to much time trying to impress Rey. BB8 was awesome, but the end where it was revealed that R2 had the other piece of the map the whole bloody time was way to deus ex machina. It just didn’t feel like SW to me.

      • You know, I had the same feeling about Finn but only after I saw it 4 or 5 times. I’m hoping his character evolves more as the movies progress because right now, I find him a tad annoying.

See, funnily, I thought Rogue One looked a tad B movie, more so than TFA. I think TFA tried too hard to go back to ANH which is why you could’ve thought it was more B movie?

Agree with not enough Phasma and she gave up way too easily. That was a little of a letdown. She seemed like just another stormtrooper and she was hyped up so much.

I loved Rey, she was definitely my favorite and her character has changed my life in some ways. Whenever I’m stuck or can’t figure something out, I just try to “channel my inner Rey” as I say now and just do it.

I thought Poe was another underutilized character. I would like to see more of him.
